AWWA Welcomes Howard Dupee

The Acton Wakefield Watersheds Alliance (AWWA) is pleased to welcome Howard Dupee as its new Program Director.  AWWA is dedicated to preserving the water quality of the lakes, ponds, rivers and streams of the ActonWakefield area.  According to Linda Schier, Executive Director of the Alliance, Dupee comes with many years of experience in nonprofit management, working with youth and land use policies.  He will be responsible for working with property owners to reduce the impact of runoff into the waterbodies within the local watersheds.  One of his main duties will be overseeing AWWA’s summer Youth Conservation Corps funded in part by the NHDES, private grants and local communities.  The corps is a great opportunity to help students learn the importance of water quality and what can be done to reduce pollution by actually constructing erosion control systems using “Best Management Practices (BMPs)” said Dupee.  While working on up to 20 sites this summer, they will also be learning employment skills including job planning, time management and workplace safety.  Recruitment for the Corps will begin in May.  Interested youth age 16-18 are encouraged to contact Mr. Dupee at (603) 473-2500 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
